The consultative process or “Programming” in Architect Speak

How do we develop an idea into a built space? Every design project at SONGER architecture inc starts with consultation. Whether the intended building will serve as an office space for two, or will be a community hub to serve multiple users and purposes, we start by gathering information. How will the space be used and who will use it? Will this be a new building, or a purposeful redesign of an existing structure? What is currently working and what isn’t? By engaging the users in the consultative process, we can discover the needs and wishes for the design–both for current use and for any projected future uses. Through collaborative brainstorming and analyses we can uncover the most pressing issues of the design and come up with creative and functional solutions.
