Events at the Readymade Community Centre tended to be active, and the rooms became uncomfortably loud as they filled. SAinc reviewed the causes of the unwanted noise and recommended improvements designed to be implemented in phases prioritized by effectiveness. These solutions included installing bowed wall diffusers and sound absorbent wainscoting, and cutting openings into the ceiling to allow sound to escape into the attics. The remedies were entirely built and installed by volunteers and resulted in dramatic decibel level reductions—and ultimately more successful gatherings.
